FAMR 230 – Human Development
We look at our journey of human development from conception through the last years we have in life, as we look at the latest theories and research in this topic. This course examines the physical, cognitive and psychosocial development for each age.
PSY 100 – Survey of Psychology
This is an introductory course, designed to provide you with an overview of the various disciplines within the field of psychology. We explore research via several psychological orientations. We look at the basic psychological processes involved in learning, memory, thinking and language. The development of the Self, which includes our gender and sexuality, personality, and overall development is studied. We discuss who we are in a social context. Finally, we look at what factors influence our mental health.
PSY 230 – Human Sexuality
This course is designed to increase your openness, awareness and knowledge of the diversity of gender roles, sexual attitudes, sexual behaviors and customs that exist within our pluralistic society. This class assists you to think critically about sexually related issues, helps you formulate responsible sexual decisions, and brings an awareness to issues related to sexual health and well-being.
SUBS 275 – Families and Addiction
This course examines the effects of substance abuse on the family from various perspectives. You will see the stages and ways in which the whole family can recover through treatment and education.
