Aloha, Marta! And the next time you are in Ocean View, please look me up and you can "tour" my acre :) I'm at about 2300 feet, and the extra 500 or 600 feet will make a little difference, but basically it's a matter of making soil and just trying things. Some work, some don't, and some of it may be "operator error!"

Please feel free to contact me with other questions. I'll do my best to find the answer.
Aloha,
Lucy

Lucy, I have been loving the blog, and especially the garden updates. We bought in Ocean View (at around the 3000 foot level) and are planning a gradual shift to the Island. Since we're both gardeners I've been fascinated by your list of what does (and doesn't) work.

Your comments about seeds brought to mind Baker Creek Seeds, http://rareseeds.com/. They recently opened a storefront in our town -- which for reasons I simply can't comprehend is closed on Saturdays, when all us job-bound gardeners actually have time to shop! The one time I did make it in, I was simply floored by the variety of heirloom seeds on offer.

That bread pudding recipe, by the way, is temptation in pixels.
